Rain is the word of the day here in the greater Manhattan area. It’s not what I’d qualify as a torrential downpour. More of a slow and steady stream of consistently saturating rain. Either way it means the streets of Hoboken, NJ will be flooded in approximately an hour or less. I’ll be amazed if this town ever gets its shit together.
Anyways, I won’t let a little H2O get ME down. And thanks to my fellow DJ – Sheena Beaston – I was thinking of songs about the rain and came up with a couple of classics in, well, My Private Collection (of songs I love anyway). So here are two for you today, below. I may add to this post if I think of more, and feel free to add any that you like in the comments.
Enjoy, kiddies!
“Red Rain” – Peter Gabriel
“Rain King” – Counting Crows
ORIGINAL
ACOUSTIC
“A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall” – Bob Dylan
don’t forget the rain song by zeppelin!
Don’t hate me, but I never really listened to The Rain Song.
That’s not to say I don’t like it, though
And November Rain. And Candy Rain… I have fun w/ this topic.
I was never a huge fan of November Rain on RAINY days. Actually, I feel like I need a specific mood to listen to that tune. It IS a classic, though.
CANDY Rain, on the other hand…well, no comment
and you will want to comment to…
